Just found your fun videos. We are in the process of transitioning our diets. My daughter to vegetarian and my husband and I to Vegan. My husband has also been Gluten Free for 11 years now. I'm just curious what your thoughts are on buying things out of the bulk bins at the store being gluten free yourself. I've always been told that they are all packaged together in an open room where the regular flours and wheat items can contaminate through the air etc. the gluten free items : nuts, fruits, seeds etc. So in trying my best not to contaminate my husband who's Celiac I've started avoiding the bulk items. Unfortunately they are the least expensive when it comes to buying grains, beans, nuts etc. Just curious what others in this situation do.

I hear you on not having time to cook certain things from scratch. I used to cook my own dried beans but I also have two daughters now plus working full time..it's hard to find the time! I'm sure you've mentioned it before but I'm pretty new to your channel… Do you work full time?

In my pantry I keep my shelf rack full of wide mouth mason jars vacuum sealed goods. And keep my vacuum sealer, my dehydrator, my bread maker machine at hands reach! Even all my dehydrated goods are vacuumed sealed in mason jars!

I even vacuum seal my pasta, cookies, cereals inside mason jars. Fine powders I use a wooden mallet and pound it in to the head inch space. Then I put a dry coffee filter and cover inside and put the lid on and jar sealer adapter and vacuum away. I tighten the ring or just cover it with my white plastic lid and it keeps it sealed tight.

I don't use any of those labels. I just use painters tape and magic marker and print whatever is inside my jar.

I keep all my dry goods in wide mouth glass mason jars and I use a vacuum sealer jar adapter and vacuum seal them closed. No boxes or bags in my pantry.

this was informative. I am moving soon and I have a mixed family as far as my husband still consumes diary. I really love the container idea and I noticed the same issues as you with different flours etc. although we are not gluten free I am vegan and I love cooking/ baking. I also notice i rarely prepare beans as its so much easier with 2 kids to just used canned. 🙂

Like Rebecca below my comment I think there are a lot of vegans on yt with an attitude of holier than thou for their way of eating and living. I made a decision overnight to become vegan but bec.. I live alone and have some issues such as fibro with a lot of fatigue I recognize that I prob will have to be vegetarian for awhile before I have the stamina to shop and cook vegan. Previous to this decision I ate out a lot so its all new for me. I have only watched this video and the one on organizing your fridge and I have retained a lot of ideas towards organization as well as introduction to vegan products. I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos. (((((((HUGS))))))))))

I noticed you had some Ancient Harvest cereal, have you tried their Quinoa Rotelle pasta ? My daughter and I love it with the Organics brand Tomato Basil Sauce.

I have always respected you for your lifestyle. But after watching this and your fridge tour, it has increased exponentially. I love the way that you are more fluid than some other vegans. Your husband and your girls have some other things that they like and it's completely ok for you to have them in your house and everything. It might just be me, but when I watch some other videos, I feel like the people are talking at me have this attitude that if you don't eat the way they do, that your wrong, and use their opinion as fact, even when it's not completely accurate. You have this great way about you that makes the green lifestyle appealing, accessible and just making it feel open to taking parts and putting them into practice if you aren't ready to go fully in. Always feel interested and inspired by your videos.

I'm a little late seeing this, but I just watched this and your fridge tour, and I found it so helpful! I'm gluten free, and my husband is pescatarian, trying to move towards vegetarian and possibly vegan, so it's tough to find things that fit both of our diets! Great pantry organization tips too! My pantry is a mess!
