I'm used to drinking gatorade during my workouts (powerlifting sessions). What would you recommend I consume instead of gatorade?

Great recipe! I usually have datorade (just dates and water) after workout or something similar, but this seems like a great idea also, thanks for the idea! Though I wouldn't put salt in there since so far I've never had the need for it. Lucky me I guess πŸ˜€

Sodium/electrolyte loss is a real thing, I cut out a lot of sodium a couple days in a row, went on my normal 10+ mile run and legs started to spasm, pretty scary. I'll give this drink a go, I'm not a fan of sports drinks either, total sugar, no nutrition. I do however find the electrolyte tablets you put in water to be quite nice however they are expensive.

Amazing! What a great idea! Will definitely be trying this out once the weather gets hot and I'm working out outside. Are there benefits to adding the Himalayan pink salt?

This will be great for when I get back into longer runs again, I spent a lot of money on gatorade before.

That looks awesome! Thanks for putting this one together. My son doesnt really like coconut water on its own so we'll try this one. He's on Cross country any suggestions for a good travel bottle? Leakproof that he can carry through the school day and then have for after school practice. His coach, she's banned Gatorade and other sports drinks. And, if she catches them carbing up on cup o noodles they're in trouble too haha! So happy she's done that.

Might have to try this on a long run, I've tried lots of store bought electrolyte powders/tablets and can't find anything I like. πŸ‘

Yes, Gatorade or Powerade is nothing but processed junk food. Contaminated with sugar. I avoid drinking crappy beverages after my workouts. Thumbs up for meπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

I cramp a LOT when I train hard, especially in the summer, unless I have like 2g of salt per day (I choose pink Himalayan). On the one hand it feels bad because I follow most my Dr Greger's advice to the letter but I already eat SO much produce that it seems necessary to me. Are you very clued up on the downsides to salt Anne-Marie? If it's just the blood pressure thing then mine's about 106/57 so doesn't seem like a concern?
