I still think about the meal I had at Tamarind in Calgary 3 years ago. It was incredible! Your cafe was wonderful too of course.
Hey Rose–How about a little lesson on the best way to use chopsticks. You are such a pro with them! 😉 xo
this looks so good omg i’m so hungry
Happy healthy vegan has a good video on lab meat. #notveganyet
I think I'd like to let some other people try the lab grown meats first, but I would definitely try it.
Im vegan and 100% for cultured meat. And also I will eat it! Sorry, not sorry. 😂
Omg it was so difficult to watch you eat this, I miss Asian food so much.😭😭 my town has pretty much no options. I also had no idea your café was in Calgary! Next time I’m there I’m definitely going to check it out! And no I don’t think I would eat lab grown meat. I don’t really miss meat and find it kind of gross but it‘s a great option for people who want it without harming animals!
I have to know more about the process before I could answer the question. Cultured meat is the strangest concept to me at this point but I do love innovation and am open minded to it.
Healthy food yum yum!!!
I’m kinda vegan (transitioning). I agree with what you said about not eating meat because it grosses you out. So I probably wouldn’t eat lab grown meat either. But if it was given to me at a restaurant with my order by mistake I’d say what the hell.
fish is meat
Hampton Creek is iffy on the ethics. Just Mayo and just everything else has disappeared from stores down here.
I love your mukbangs… Always so informative, and the good looks so YUM! Struggling half vegan here, so you're my inspiration.
Have you ever thought about doing Laksa, a delicious Malay /Singaporean soup based on coconut milk, and can be made vegan easily, as long s your using kombu to make the mildly seafood taste the soup has… Try it out… Pleeease? 😁
In Singapore they probably don't have to worry about backlash from the poultry industry
I'm all for lab grown meat! I probably wouldn't personally choose to eat it because I prefer vegan alternatives. If they ever made lan grown lobster I'd definitely try that though haha
For sure would get lab grown meat for my cats but not for me.
As far as lab grown meat is concerned, I’m totally not against it, but I guess I started my vegan path on the health aspect side first before I learned of the animal cruelty part. If lab grown meat is full of saturated fat just like regular animal meat, it’s pointless for me myself personally to eat it because cutting down on saturated fats plays a big part of why I became vegan/plant based.
Singapore has a goal to be more self-sufficient, i wonder if that's part of why they are invested in lab grown meat?
Honestly whenever it becomes available in Canada I will be doing my very best to switch to cultured meat entirely. I hope the distribution plan is solid and it's not either super expensive or sold out all the time.
i personally wouldnt eat cultured meat, but if a vegan wants to, go for it! i dont know how its made exacly but i guess it's not made from animals, so its vegan 🙂
I am super for the scientific exploration of lab grown meat and I am hoping that it becomes more affordable so we can shut down the factory farming industry. I still think it is likely that even with cultured meat as an alternative that most people will still have to reduce meat consumption. I would imagine that cultured meat would still be unsustainable if we keep consuming meat at the same levels and also the way we eat meat currently is super unhealthy. (In US is common to eat multiple types of meat per meal)
I don't think I could ever eat cultured meat, it still is flesh >.< the only plant based meats i can eat are ones that still kind-of taste like plants. I had the impossible burger once and I will never again 😡
I could tell it was Tamarind Vietnamese from the thumbnail. My favorite place in Calgary
R.I.P. Factory Farms
@CheapLazyVegan I would love if you made a cook with me video making mock beef and then using said beef to make meals where regular beef would typically be used.
I’m from SG! And vegan! 🙂 love watching your munching Monday videos and how passionate you eat hahaha
Hi from Singapore! As a vegan I welcomed this move. My country is trying to enhance food security since we import most of our food sources. The supply chain nearly shut down in March so having more alternatives are what we want to explore. Surprisingly it is the regular meat-eaters who are put off by lab meat. Will I try it? Of cos not. There is a line to be drawn for veganism. Don't ever cross it
i dont know if i would eat it (i wouldnt like to make it a habit), but i think thats a great and easy way for meat eaters to swap regular meat with this one.. sometimes meat eaters want to go vegetarian/vegan but they say "they like meat too much" so it would be an option for them 🙂
Lab grown meat makes me think of the movie Zombieland.
